“Brand is the holistic sum of customers’ experiences, composed of visual, tonal and behavioural brand components, many of which are shaped by interaction design.”

~ Kate Kaplan

Branding is more than design elements. An organization’s brand is its reputation. Every interaction, in any form, all comes back to branding, and branding reflects the organization’s mission, vision, values and key messaging.

Everyone representing the organization must live and breathe the brand. Here’s how we do it:

create your brand

Step #1

Define your Organization

You will complete a short, but detailed, questionnaire outlining your mission, vision, values, key messaging and target audience. You will also choose which branding elements you wish to include. This provides me the information I need to research the best designs to convey who you are and what you stand for.

Step #2

Proposal

After some initial research, I will present you with a proposal to meet your needs. Each brand is thoroughly researched against market trends, audience appeal, and effectiveness. The resulting elements are designed by hand then computerized.

Step #3

First Phase Presentation

Whether you choose a complete branding package or a-la-cart options, the first phase presentation will present logo options, colour palettes and typography combinations. This creates the basics for all other design and media elements.

Step #4

Basic Brand Guidelines

Once you choose your favs from the first phase presentation, final files will be created of your logo in multiple variations and a branding guideline will be created for future reference when developing new media for your organization. Guidelines will include primary logo, typography, primary colours, secondary colours, and proper usage. For a complete branding package, you will also receive social media layouts, imagery, mood board, textures and key messaging.

Step #5

Build all the Things

Now it’s time to get your brand out to your audience! We’ll start with your website, social media channels, and any other additional elements you’ve identified for your project: marketing strategy, merchandise, packaging, print items (posters, envelopes, etc.), branded photography, videos, podcasts, administrative systems, etc.
